THE MORTICIAN'S SON
Frank the twelve year old that lives with Lynn Deddan the mortician and also serial killer has a problem much to the delight of his supposed mother. Everyone he comes into contact with soon dies after it becomes clear they will not be remaining in his life. Then Lynn dies in a tragic fire and the boy is left to fend for himself as well as manage his special problem above. Frank has a special relationship with the world around him because Lynn isolates him on a large lake lot complete with security to insure that others do not have the opportunity to interact with him. But even with Lynn's help things do get a little beyond them when a young female visitor happens by, slipping past the security with childlike ease. The boy lives in the house where he and Lynn lived even after her demise, but sooner than he would like he has to go to town to get food and cleaning supplies, and with no vehicle he must also resort to hitchhiking. As if that wasn't enough his efforts to limit interaction with others is severely tested in the town of over 20,000 potential victims, many of whom soon learn he's alive though many think he died in the fire Lynn died in. Follow his tale, from home schooled recluse to being taken care of by Child Protection, and living with his aunt in a Mormon complex east of Denver, and back with his sister of sorts who takes up the slack hardly at all for Lynn. In the end he returns to Lynn's house on the lake and becomes a writer, but winds up a hunted fugitive.
